Ammon News - Mercury levels are expected to dip few degrees on Wednesday, so cold and partly cloudy conditions will prevail with rain in the northern, central and southwestern parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
The depression is expected to deepen by night hours and downpours are forecast to intensify and cover much of the country, with heavy showers in western regions, accompanied by thunder and hail at times and making flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, while winds will be westerly moderate to active, the JMD added.

On Thursday, the Kingdom will remain under the impact of the cold and wet front. Therefore, it will be cold and partly cloudy with light and scattered showers, mainly in the western areas, the department predicted.

Toward evening, rainfall will taper off and the weather will gradually stabilize, the JMD further said, noting that fog formation is also forecast during night hours over highlands and the Badia regions.

On Friday, cold weather conditions will prevail in various areas of the country, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will be moderate, with low clouds and easterly light winds.

Today, mercury in Amman hovers around 14 Celsius degrees, dropping to 9C during night hours, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a relatively hot 24C, sliding into 14C during nighttime.
