Ammon News - Lower House Speaker MP Abdel Muneim Odat Tuesday met with the heads of the Constitutional Court, Bar Association and the National Centre for Human Rights as part of a series of encounters with public figures after taking office.
He told Constitutional Court President Hisham Tal and members that he had confidence in the court, as "a fruit of the reforms led by His Majesty King Abdullah and a reference that corrects the course of authorities through its oversight of the constitutionality of laws and interpretation of the constitution."
Odat also said in a separate meeting with Jordan Bar Association President Mazen Rsheidat that the association is "a house of expertise and key legislative backup", pledging cooperation between the legislature and the professional associations.
He also agreed with Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Centre for Human Rights Irhaiel Gharaibeh on the importance of coordination on human rights issues with the House's Public Freedoms and Human Rights Committee.
