Ammon News - Moderate weather conditions are expected to prevail on Monday nationwide during the daytime, with clouds at various altitudes, the Jordan Meteorological Department said in its daily brief.

In the evening, a cold air mass accompanying the low-pressure system is forecast to bring spotty showers and hail in the western highlands, the JMD added, noting that downpours are expected to intensify and cover much of the country with thunderstorms and heavy showers in some regions, causing flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, including the city of Aqaba.

Winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk with strong gusts and speed reaching 50 kilometers per hour, blowing dust at times and causing poor visibility, mainly in the southern and eastern regions.

A tangible in mercury levels is expected on Tuesday, as a second cold air mass is expected to cross the Kingdom as we go into the night, bringing cold and cloudy weather with heavy downpours that make floods in valleys and lowlands, while winds will be southwesterly moderate to active, stirring dust and causing low horizontal visibility in the Badia regions.

On Wednesday, a further in mercury levels is forecast with wintery conditions across the Kingdom. Spotty heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are also a possibility.
Today, mercury in Amman hovers around 22 Celsius degrees, dropping to 10C during night hours, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a relatively hot 28C, sliding into 15C during nighttime.
