Cabinet exempts grantees of public universities scholarships from fines

A cabinet session, chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh, on Sunday decided to exempt grantees who have public universities scholarships from due fines, regardless of their percentage, according to a number of criteria.

In order to be waive these fines, the cabinet stipulated that the full value of the scholarship's actual expenditures to be paid in full to the Ministry of Finance / Public Finance Directorate for those who have records in it, or directly to the concerned university, within six months from the date of the cabinet's decision for this purpose.

The government also agreed to increase the amount allocated to the contingency expenses fund to confront the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, raising the fund's ceiling to JD100 million, in order to cover the additional expenses, including the establishment of field hospitals, renting the private hospital, providing medical supplies and equipment and other actions taken to deal with this pandemic.
