Relatively cold and partly cloudy weather conditions are expected to prevail on Monday, with a chance of spotty showers in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
Rainfall is forecast to turn heavy at times, causing floods in valleys and low-lying areas, the JMD added, noting that clouds will gradually decrease during the evening as the weather will start to stabilize, while winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia regions.
The JMD also warned of slippery roads in the areas experiencing rain, and of poor visibility due to fog formation in highlands and the Badia regions.
Over the coming two days, a slight rise in mercury levels is forecast. Therefore, the weather will be moderate in various areas of the country, with low altitude clouds and southeasterly moderate winds, the department predicted.
Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 19 degrees Celsius in Amman, 15 in the northern cities and 16 in the southern highlands, dropping down at night to 11, 8 and 10C respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 28 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 17 degrees at night.
