Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The incarcerated father of a 16-year-old boy, whose upper limbs had been chopped off and one of his eyes gouged out by a group of persons a few days ago, was Tuesday allowed to visit his son, who is recovering from the assault which drew public outrage across the country.
The visit was permitted by the director of the Public Security Department (PSD) "in light of the health and humanitarian condition of the boy, identified by his first name "Saleh", and his family have been going through," a PSD spokesman said.
The assault occurred last week in the eastern Zarqa governorate where a group of individuals, all are now in police custody, kidnapped the teen and assaulted him in an alleged revenge for a previous homicide.
The group were Friday indicted with attempted joint-enterprise murder, kidnapping and causing permanent disability among other crimes, and they will be tried by the Criminal Court.
Following the incident, the PSD launched a nationwide crackdown on racketeers and repeat offenders, leading to the arrest of scores of wanted persons.
