PM chairs coronavirus crisis cell meeting

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Monday underlined the need to step up efforts designed to slash the increase in daily coronavirus infections and work to flatten the curve of the pandemic which, he said, is now in a community spread phase.
Speaking at a meeting of the coronavirus crisis cell, the caretaker prime minister ordered tightened control on all public and private institutions, markets and businesses to ensure compliance with health safety protocols, including the use of masks and avoiding gatherings of more than 20 persons.
The meeting discussed steps needed to reduce and control the increasing number of local infections, and a set of possible scenarios that might be introduced to control the spread of the disease.
Additionally, the meeting, which brought together senior civic and military officials at the prime ministry, addressed the capacity of the public and private healthcare system and its ability to maintain its services to the public.
