IEC announces date to pay candidacy fee

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The media spokesperson for the Independent Election Commission (IEC), Jihad Momani, on Thursday announced candidates can pay fees to run for the upcoming parliamentary elections starting next Saturday.

Under the IEC procedure, the Ministry of Finance's offices will open nationwide to enable individual candidates pay the stipulated fees.

Each candidate must pay a non-refundable amount of JD500 credited to the Treasury, per Article 12 of the Election Law for the Lower House of Representatives and its amendment No. (6) for 2016.

As for the areas under comprehensive curfew, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, candidates can pay individual fees in any of the Ministry of Finance's offices.
