Jordan records 214 COVID-19 infections and two fatalities

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A total of 214 COVID-19 cases and two fatalities were recorded in the Kingdom Monday, Minister of Health Saad Jaber said.
Breaking down the cases to journalists at the Prime Ministry, Jaber said 110 cases were recorded in Amman, 53 in Karak, 19 in Balqa, 4 in Irbid, 9 in Zarqa, 6 in Mafraq, 2 in Jerash and 1 in Madaba, in addition, 10 infections were recorded for patients who had come from abroad.
Epidemiological tracing teams conducted 10,000 tests today as the tally nears 1 million since the start of the pandemic in the Kingdom, he said, adding that 49 people recovered.
"We hope the new measures, though might be tough, to reduce the number of infections, and we are cautious not to return to blanket curfews,"Jaber said, adding "our lives are now affected by the measures due to recklessness, throwing wedding parties, holding gatherings and opening condolence houses."
