Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Six COVID-19 infections were recorded in the Kingdom Tuesday, non of which had been locally transmitted, pushing the caseload to 1,224, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).

Of the newly recorded cases, 3 were for people who have been staying in quarantine hotels, 2 of whom had come from Saudi Arabia and 1 from Iraq. Three Jordanian truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the country's eastern crossing border with Saudi Arabia (Al-Omari Border Crossing).

Twenty-four patients recovered today, a briefing at the Prime Ministry noted, adding that 4,781 tests were conducted today as the total number tops 616,656.

It highlighted that the decision to postpone flights to and from "green countries" had come following recommendation from the National Epidemiological Committee and against the backof regional and global instability in terms of the pandemic and the vertiginous increase in the number of cases.

Airports will remain operational and open to Jordanians who want to come back and for those wishing to depart the Kingdom. Repatriation flights will be increased.

In compliance with the MoH's instructions, Jordanian arrivals from "green countries" will be quarantined for a week, that is after taking the PCR test, which proves that the they are not infected.
