Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, has congratulated citizens on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.
On this occasion, the PM also congratulated His Majesty King Abdullah II.
In a speech he addressed the citizens on Thursday, the PM pointed out Ramadan has come this year, amid exceptional circumstances, in which the entire world is witnessing a malicious pandemic, which has spread, and has caused all humanity massive economic and human losses, and negatively affected its entire health systems.
The PM affirmed: "We live together as we contained this pandemic, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and with his direct and continuous follow-up that the citizens' health and safety are at the top of our priorities."
Razzaz also affirmed, under these circumstances, the values of the holy month of Ramadan are evident, citing the need to focus on the spirit of brotherhood, and fraternity, and extending a helping hand to the vulnerable people.
He continued: "These values were embodied by the Jordanians in their fullest form during this crisis, and how much we need to sustain during the holy month, to be a constant of our principles, and to be an example of good work throughout the year, and maintain the feats of righteousness, goodness and charity."
Razzaz asserted that the Covid-19 pandemic taught us many lessons, as it cultivated the spirit of challenge, determination and achievement, and endurance of hardships.
The PM said:" The exceptional circumstances that we living in today require exceptional decisions aimed to achieve interim adjustment, societal interdependence, flexibility and the ability to adapt by assessing our performance to see where we have succeeded and where we have failed with an open and careful eye to all the details."
On the government's Covid-19 steps, Razzaz noted: "We started early, and have taken so far 240 decisions related to the health, educational, economic, regulatory and social protection aspects."
Showcasing Jordan's experience, the PM noted:" We in Jordan have presented a model to be followed in many countries of the world and have started the planning stage to reach recovery, enhance resilience, and self-reliance in food, medicine and manufacturing, entrepreneurship and creativity".
The PM affirmed:" We all suffered in order to keep the country safe and sound away from the pandemic, and we know the size of sacrifices and difficult living conditions, and we are still betting on your awareness and commitment during the next stage; this year we will have to abandon some of the beloved Ramadan social traditions."
Citing the keys to win the fight against the novel coronavirus, the PM said:" Our success depends on our continued commitment, partnership and complementarity among us, as a team, and by our desire to overcome difficulties, and most importantly, we maintain the flame of optimism that will illuminate the path of the future."
