283 vehicles impounded, 755 arrested for flouting curfew

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Police impounded a total of 283 vehicles and arrested 755 persons in the past 24 hours, for violating the curfew imposed to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Public Security Department (PSD).

In a statement issued on Monday, the Department's spokesman said "all security personnel in patrols and checkpoints are working around the clock to control violations against the orders issued under the Defense Law," stressing that the police will not tolerate any breach of the current rules.

The seized vehicles will be transferred to impound yards designated for this purpose in Muwaqqar and Swaqa, he further said, adding fines will be levied upon the owners when they receive their vehicles after one month.
