Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Sunday offered his well-wishes and congratulations to Jordanian Orthodox Christians celebrating Easter and thanked them for observing the feast at home and limiting prayers at churches to the clergy.
In a phone call with Greek Orthodox Patriarchal Deputy in Jordan and President of the Jordan churches council, Bishop Christophoros Attallah, the prime minister hailed the role of the council in urging the Christian community to conduct prayers at homes in compliance with the current COVID-19-prompted lockdown in the country.
The prime minister stressed that the current conditions, which the Kingdom is experiencing as a result of the coronavirus, make it imperative for everyone to adhere to the instructions issued by public health authorities preventing gatherings in places of worship and other public places.
On Twitter, Razzaz wrote: "On the occasion of the glorious Easter, I would like to extend my congratulations and best wishes to my Christian brothers and sisters. I hope for a tomorrow when the cloud of this pandemic will clear with everyone's efforts, solidarity and support."
