Dawoud announces cabinet decisions to support Covid-19 hardest-hit people

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs, Sami Dawoud, announced on Thursday, a number of decisions taken by the Council of Ministers to back the ad hoc national funds, and Ministry of Health to support those hardest-hit people of the Covid-19 pandemic as follows:
1- Donating (40 percent) of the Prime Minister’s monthly salary.

2- Donating (30 percent) of the monthly salaries of the working ministers and peers of similar rank or salary.

3- Donating (30 percent) of the monthly salaries to each of the chairmen of the Boards of Commissioners, boards of authorities, and presidents of official universities and their ranks.

4- Donating (10 percent) of the monthly salaries of employees of the 2nd higher post category and peers of their rank, members of the boards of any authority, and the executive directors of any public official institution or public corporation, government-owned companies, and members of the teaching staff of public universities.

5- Donating (10 percent) of the monthly salaries of all employees working under comprehensive contracts for all bonuses whose monthly salaries exceed JOD2000.

During a press briefing in the Prime Ministry, Daoud said: "This step comes for the sake of the country, in addition to support our efforts that we make day and night to serve the Kingdom, and to keep the country safe."

He said the cabinet, in view of the difficult circumstances the Kingdom is battling, and to instill values of solidarity, took a number of decisions as well, as follows:

1- Stop bonuses and overtime allowance for all employees whose total salary exceeds JOD(1300), provided that the total salary after deduction is not less than (JOD1000).

2- Mandating the Ministry of Finance not to pay bonuses and the transportation allowance of government representatives on the boards of directors of companies to which the government has a stake.

3- Stopping the payment of 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th salaries in companies that are wholly owned by the government, or where the percentage of government ownership exceeds (50 percent).

4- Halting the monthly transport allowance for all employees working in the ministries, or in any council, authority, institution or public body affiliated with the government or in companies wholly owned by it.

5- Stopping the monthly fuel allowance for employees who use government vehicles.

6- Deducting (50 percent) of the financial dues of temporary staffers, -with services sold to government institutions-, who do not receive pension salaries, provided that they receive no less than JOD(320), and to stop the payment of financial dues to this group who receive pension salaries.

7- Stopping appointments in all ministries, government departments, public official institutions, public institutions, authorities, authorities and companies owned by the government and the Greater Amman Municipality and municipalities until 12/31/2020.

The employees, excluded from the above clauses, include those who are still working during the period of the Defense Law.
9- Suspending the annual salary spike to the staff of the governmental and military apparatus for the year 2020 from the date of 1/5/2020 until 31/12/2020.
