Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Irbid has not recorded any cases of the COVID-19 for the 10th day in a row, an official told Petra on Tuesday.
Wael Hayajneh, member of the National Epidemiological Committee and the official overseeing the coronavirus situation in the north said the protocol used to evaluate the epidemiological situation calculates weeks, not days, which indicates that Irbid is close to recovery.
He pointed out that the precautionary quarantine on several buildings in Ramtha and Irbid has been lifted.
Hayajneh stated that the hot zones in Irbid have not recorded any cases of infection with the COVID-19 of individuals who have had contact with confirmed cases for more than two weeks, which points to positive recovery indicators.
He said it is likely that four patients who have recovered from the disease may be released today from the King Abdullah University Hospital, bringing the total number of cases at the hospital to 28.
A total of 6,000 tests have been conducted as of Tuesday morning in the governorate, he announced.
He stressed that 25 epidemiological inspection teams have spread across northern governorates to conduct random tests, after swabbing all contacts of confirmed cases.
