Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Lower House of Parliament on Monday decided to cut its members' allocations by 30 percent until the end of the current year as the country continues to grapple with the ramifications of the COVID-19 crisis.

"This step stems from the House's national responsibility in light of the current circumstances in the Kingdom as a result of the coronavirus pandemic", House Speaker Atef Tarawneh said in a statement, hoping that other national institutions follow suit at these "critical conditions".

Tarawneh underlined the need for a gradual reopening of the private sector according to a quick plan, stressing that such step can be taken now in southern governorates where no COVID-1 cases have been recorded so far.
