Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz Tuesday visited the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization's (JHCO) warehouses in Amman to check first-hand on the Social Protection Task Force's efforts in supporting needy families and daily wage labourers affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
During his tour, where he was accompanied by JHCO Board of Trustees Chairman, HRH Prince Rashid El Hassan, Minister of Social Development Basma Ishaqat and the organisation's Secretary-General Ayman Al-Mefleh, Razzaz toured the warehouse of ready-made food parcels and viewed the trucks that were on standby to be loaded and sent to underprivileged groups.
The premier was briefed by the organisation's secretary-general on the mechanism to receive cash and in-kind donations from the public and private sectors and civil society organisations, and prepare food parcels, stressing the need to check the expiration dates and ensure sterilization of the foodstuffs.
Razzaz said in press remarks after the tour that he was keen to be acquainted with the integrated efforts of the Social Protection Team, which is jointly carried out by the Ministry of Social Development, the National Aid Fund, the Zakat (alms) Fund, the Social Security Corporation, the JHCO and Tkiyet Um Ali.
The prime minister urged the private sector, civil society institutions and individuals to donate through designated platforms, praising the collective effort and adding "through this common will, God willing, we will reach every citizen in need wherever they are on national soil."
