Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz said Saturday that the recent developments and the delicate circumstances that the Arab region is going through require "a very high" level of coordination between the Arab countries.
"We go through an unprecedented delicate stage as the result of the enormous events that our Arab nation witnessed," he said as he welcomed heads of delegations participating in the 30th extraordinary meeting of the Inter-Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) which was held in Amman.
Razzaz hailed the heads and representatives of 20 Arab parliaments for meeting the invitation, which was extended by Lower House Speaker, APU President Atef Tarawneh for the Amman conference.
During the meeting, which was attended by Senate President Faisal Fayez, Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Mousa Ma’aitah and Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Sami Dawood, the premier reiterated "our common constants on the Palestinian issue."
"The APU's final statement fully reflects the feelings of every Arab, Muslim and Christian in our Arab world and the world at large, and everyone who aspires to see a just and comprehensive peace being fulfilled in this region," he told the heads of Arab parliaments.
Razzaz also warned against any unilateral measures before or after the Israeli elections to change the status quo in Jerusalem or existing borders or any demographic changes on the ground, stressing that "such measures constitute a real danger that we reject beforehand and will not accept, because they will close the doors that are still open to reach a lasting and just peace in the region."
"We pin hopes on all the brothers in any new matters that may require this high level of coordination, and to stand together to protect the Palestinian cause and all of our common Arab issues," he told the parliament heads.
"Everyone believes in a unified national enterprise for Palestine that preserves the final status, Jerusalem and the holy sites," Razzaz said, adding that "with this resolve, cohesion and unity, we reiterate that these are constants, but not topics for negotiation or compromise, to arrive at the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people and Arab countries."
