Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The State Security Court (SSC) has charged the first suspect in an incident of stabbing 8 people in Jerash Governorate with plotting to carry out terrorist acts, attempting to join armed groups and terror organizations, and promoting ideology of a terrorist group.
During a public session held on Sunday, the SSC decided to appoint a lawyer for the first and second suspects, after they told the court of their inability to hire a lawyer, while the third said he had a solicitor in the case.
The indictment shows the first and second defendants have had a long-term friendship, while the first suspect holds Daesh terrorist ideology and has begun to spread it since 2019 on social platforms.
The charge-sheet also indicates the first defendant decided to carry out an operation on Jordanian soil in support of the Deash gang, and to avenge the killing of Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.
To carry out the scheme, the second defendant identified a church in the northern Dibbin region as a possible target, however the first decided to carry out an operation against foreign tourists in the historical city of Jerash on November 6, 2019.
