Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Speaker of the Lower House, Atef Tarawneh, warned of snubbing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, a situation that will ignite the region.
In a statement read at the beginning of the House's session on Sunday, in the presence of the Cabinet's members, Tarawneh called on adhering to "our entrenched principles and our highest interests."
The statement, which was adopted by the House, noted "the region will not calm down, as long as the occupier spreads hatred and extremism and legalizes killing, destruction and displacement".
Continuing: "The occupier is maintaining brutal aggression against a defenseless people, which proves the language of racism, hatred and extremism is stronger than the international legitimacy resolutions, as long as the world is in complete silence, and as long as the bias is guaranteed by the peace sponsor."
"By setting fire to the Badriya Mosque in the south of occupied Jerusalem and continuing to attack Al-Aqsa Mosque and the safe worshipers, the occupier perpetuates state terrorism and ends every effort to bring peace," he pointed out.
Tarawneh affirmed unwavering support to the positions of His Majesty King Abdullah II demanding to protect the rights of the Palestinian people and ending injustice inflicted on them.
Tarawneh also highlighted His Majesty’s call to the two-state solution as a solution that guarantees the stability of the region, through implementing international legitimacy resolutions, and supporting the option of establishing a fully sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
