Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Azerbaijani embassy in Amman, Monday evening, held a reception to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the tragedy of January 20, 1990, in which more than 130 civilians were killed.
During the ceremony, President of the Jordanian-Azeri Friendship Association, Senator Marwan Hamoud, stressed the strong Jordanian-Azerbaijani ties, supported by the distinguished relations between the two countries' leaders.
"His Majesty King Abdullah II recently visited Azerbaijan upon an invitation by President Ilham Aliyev," Hamoud said, highlighting the importance of this visit in enhancing bilateral cooperation.
The senator also called for increasing mutual visits to boost relations between the peoples of the two countries.
For his turn, the Azeri Ambassador to Jordan, Rasim Rzayev, said his country is moving ahead with a steady step to keep pace with advanced civilization, noting that Azerbaijan is an independent country that has the respect and the recognition of the international community.
Speakers, during the event, also hailed Jordan's support for Azerbaijan's issues, and the importance of His Majesty King Abdullah's role in achieving peace and stability in the world.
