Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Cold and cloudy weather conditions are expected to prevail on Monday with scattered rain in many parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
The department expected chilly evening across the country with low-altitude clouds and a possibility of frost and freeze formation in the late night hours over the highlands and the Badia regions.
The JMD warned of slippery roads and low horizontal visibility in the early morning hours and overnight, due to fog formation in the southern mountainous areas and parts of Badia.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach a high of 11 degrees Celsius, 13 in the northern areas and 10 in the southern governorates, dropping down at night to 6, 3 and 2 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 20 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 12 degrees at night.
Mercury levels will rise few degrees on Tuesday, but it will remain cold in many most parts of the country and pleasant in the Jordan Valley with low clouds and southeasterly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust at times, the JMD said.
A further rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, becoming around their seasonal average, but similar cold conditions will continue to prevail with southeasterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD added.
