Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian and Italian governments on Saturday signed an agreement under which the latter offers €85 million to support the Jordanian treasury.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mohammad Al-Ississ, inked the agreement with Director General of the Italian Development Cooperation Agency Giorgio Marbodi.
In a press release, the ministry said that the assistance will contribute to the implementation of the National Strategy for Human Resources Development 2016-2025 through promoting the equal enrollment of male and female students in early education, enhancing vocational training and technical education, and restructuring and rehabilitating the Ajloun Technical College at the Balqa Applied University.
Ississ thanked Italy for standing by Jordan through proving aid to the treasury, which contributes to maintaining investment spending necessary for development, supports vital sectors in the Kingdom and alleviates the repercussions of the Syrian refugee crisis on the budget.
Marbodi underscored the strong partnership between the two friendly countries, stressing Italy's commitment to supporting Jordan to maintain its economic resilience in the current exceptional circumstances, and to enable it to overcome the consequences of Syrian refugee crisis.
