Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Interior Minister, Salameh Hammad, on Tuesday discussed with French Ambassador, Veronique Vouland, means to boost bilateral cooperation especially in the security field.
During the meeting, Hammad said bilateral relations draw their strength from the two countries' leaders, who are keen on forging ahead to develop ties and establish joint programs and projects that serve common interests.
He pointed out the need to strengthen cooperation to ensure the adoption of comprehensive programs and strategies to combat the threat of extremism, terrorism and crime.
He also highlighted the need to exchange information, increase mutual visits, and intensify training programs to keep up with the rapidly evolving technological advances.
On hosting refugees, the minister underlined Jordan's long-term experience in dealing with refugees, noting that it hosts hundreds of thousands of them and provides services necessary for a decent living.
He said hosting refugees burdened vital and service sectors, stressing the need to support the Kingdom so that it can continue to carry out its humanitarian mission.
The French envoy lauded Jordan's role in addressing many issues and challenges facing the region, especially in the field of combating terrorism and crime, and the Kingdom's relentless efforts to achieve regional and international security and stability.
She underscored the importance of the Jordanian-French partnership, and the need to take the necessary measures to activate it and develop it to serve the interests of the two peoples.
