Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi Saturday welcomed the signing of a landmark power-sharing accord by Sudan’s military and civilian leaders, signaling a new chapter after months of popular protests.
Under the deal, which was inked by the ruling military council and the opposition Freedom and Change Alliance, would establish a joint council that will govern until elections that will be held in three years time.
Al-Safadi offered his best wishes to the brothers in Sudan for signing the interim agreement, which heralds in a new era, wishing the "brotherly people of Sudan well in entrenching democracy and achieving security, safety and accomplishment."
He blessed "this great historic achievement", reiterating Jordan's continued stand beside the Sudanese people in their quest to transcend the current challenges and build the bright future they deserve and aspire for."
