Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordanian Ambassador in Kazakhstan Yousef Abdul Ghani on Monday participated in a meeting held at the office of the mayor of Atyrau where Jordanian workers were attacked on Saturday, said Sufian Qudah, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
The spokesperson pointed to requests Abdul Ghani made during the meeting including the need for the Kazakh side to shed light on the incident and its cause, to provide security for Jordanians, to give the Jordanian embassy an on the investigation into the matter, and to protect the rights of Jordanian workers affected by the attack.
Atyrau Mayor apologized on behalf of his country's government for what happened to Jordanians, describing the incident as unfamiliar to their culture.
He affirmed that "all Jordanian demands will be dealt with seriously and positively," stressing Kazakhstan's keenness to maintain friendly relations with Jordan.
He said the issue is now under control and Jordanian engineers can return to their jobs.
Meanwhile, Abdul Ghani continued meetings with Jordanians in Kazakhstan, during which he conveyed to them the greetings of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah, the Regent, who issued directives to ensure their security and safety.
