Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Monday met with European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, who is currently visiting the Kingdom at the head of an economic delegation comprising major international financial institutions and bodies.
During the meeting, the two officials voiced their keenness to develop partnership and increase cooperation in all fields.
They also stressed the importance of the outcome of the Association Council, held last week in Luxembourg, in increasing economic and development cooperation.
Safadi highlighted the important role of the EU to overcome regional crises and enhance security and stability in the region. He also valued the EU's position in supporting the two-state solution as the only way to resolve the conflict and achieve comprehensive peace.
Talks during the meeting also tackled regional developments, especially those related to the Palestinian issue.
Safadi stressed that there will be no solution without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital according to the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The EU Commissioner expressed the EU's appreciation for the partnership with Jordan which has an important role in boosting regional security and stability.
