Heat wave reaches peak with record temperatures

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Temperatures are expected to reach peak on Tuesday, reaching 39 degrees Celsius in the capital and 36 in other parts of the country with northeastern moderate winds, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
At night, mercury levels will cool down sliding to 24 in the capital and the northern cities and standing at 20 in the southern governorates, 36 in the northern and the southern governorates, dropping down to 24 and 20 respectively. The weather will be much hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 44 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 31, the JMD explained.
On Wednesday, a slight in temperatures is expected, but similar hot and dry conditions in most parts of the Kingdom and very hot in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.
The heat wave will begin to taper off on Thursday, pushing temperatures down, bringing relatively hot conditions nationwide, with northwesterly moderate winds picking up at times, the JMD said further.
