Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Finance, Dr. Ezzedine Kanakri, said meetings with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission are part of its regular visits to discuss the financial reform program being implemented in cooperation with the international lending institution.
The meeting with the IMF mission was attended by the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ), the Deputy Governor, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance.
Economic indicators, including export growth and tourism revenues, measures aimed at promoting economic growth, maintaining the deficit target within the Budget Law, and reducing public debt in proportion to GDP were reviewed, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance.
Discussions also went over preparations to conduct the third review of the Jordanian economy performance under the program with the IMF to be conducted in September.
The minister announced other meetings will be held later, as the IMF mission will hold gatherings in ministries and public institutions, and is expected to end its visit next week.
