Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, on Thursday, launched in Madouna Amman Strategic Terminal for Petroleum Products project, with 350,000 tons capacity.
Funded by Abu Dhabi Fund for Development at a cost of $ 210 million, the project will contribute to providing appropriate strategic reserves of petroleum derivatives for emergency situations.
The project will also contribute to lifting up the level of infrastructure in this key sector, as well as, creating job opportunities for Jordanian technicians and professionals.
Razzaz, during the launching ceremony attended by a number of ministers, lawmakers, and the Director General of the fund, said that the Kingdom in line with His Majesty's directives, is seeking for strategic energy security.
The prime minister voiced the government's appreciation for the United Arab Emirates government for their close cooperation with the Kingdom.
The project, Razzaz said, will raise the strategic and operational stock sufficient for the Kingdom for more than 30 days.
The prime minister added that his government is seeking for raising the stock to 90 days.
