Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - -A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Tuesday, bringing back relatively hot to hot conditions across the country with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) daily brief.
Starting Wednesday a heatwave, originating from the Arabian Peninsula, will hit the country, pushing temperatures 7-8 degrees a above their annual average and creating hot conditions that will continue on Thursday. Winds will be northeasterly moderate to brisk, raising dust at times in the Badia regions, the JMD said.
Daytime temperatures expected for today will reach 35 degrees Celsius in Amman, 33 in the northern governorates and 32 in southern cites, dropping down to 21, 20 and 19 respectively. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 40 degrees and lows standing at 28, the JMD added.
