Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Cabinet decided not to allow the export of tobacco from free zones except through the manufacturing company, and prevent companies in the free zones from exporting through intermediary companies.
The Council of Ministers mandated the Legislative and Opinion Bureau to examine the possibility of changing the penalty on trafficking in contraband from misdemeanor to felony in order to limit this phenomenon.
The Cabinet also approved the enactment of a special law regulating the cultivation and manufacturing of tobacco. This law will set
out deterrent penalties in case of violation of its provisions.
It entrusted the ministers of finance, Industry, Trade and Supply and the Chairman of the Legislative and Opinion Bureau with taking the necessary measures to implement the decision within two weeks.
