Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Interior Minister Sameer Mubaidin Monday urged security bodies, governors and officials across the Kingdom to double efforts, including close monitoring of food prices to ensure food commodities are in sufficient supply during the fasting month of Ramadan.
In a meeting with the Amman Mayor, heads of security departments, governors and military and security officials to discuss preparations for the holy month, which starts next week, the minister called for more efforts to meet the needs of citizens, address traffic congestions and maintain checks on food prices and ensure their availability and that they meet health safety standards.
Amman Mayor Yousef al-Shawarbeh said that his municipality, in cooperation with the concerned state institutions and departments, has taken preparations to meet the demand on food commodities and ensure smooth traffic in the capital and safety during a May Day celebration in Qweismeh.
For his part, Public Security Department Director General Maj. Gen. Fadel Hmoud said his apparatus is at the ready round the clock, hailing the level of coordination among ministries and security departments.
