Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A tangible in temperatures is expected today as the cold air mass, accompanied by a depression, will affect the country, bringing cold, cloudy and rainy weather conditions nationwide, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
Rainfall is expected to be heavy, with hail and thunder in some parts, which may form floods in the valleys and lowlands. Snow is also possible over the high southern mountains, the JMD added.
Winds will be westerly brisk, stirring dust in the desert where no rain is expected.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 11 degrees Celsius, 12 degrees Celsius in the northern cities and 9 degrees Celsius in the southern cities, dropping down to 5 and 3 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 23 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 15 degrees at night.
Cold and cloudy weather will continue tomorrow, with rainfall in the northern and central parts of the country, accompanied by hail and thunder while winds will be westerly brisk.
On Tuesday, temperatures will slightly rise, but the weather will stay cold in most regions and pleasant in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba. Scattered rain is forecast in the early morning hours and winds will be westerly moderate. Fog formation is also expected at night especially above mountainous highlands.
