Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Temperatures on Thursday are expected to tangibly drop, as the country remains under the impact of the wet and cold air mass which started Wednesday evening, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
Rainfall is also expected to be heavy at times, accompanied by thunder and hail and forming floods in the valleys and the low lands, with westerly to northwesterly brisk winds with a speed reaching 50-60 km/h .
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 11 degrees Celsius, 12 in the northern cities and13 in the southern governorates, dropping down to 5, 6 and 3 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 20 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 13, the JMD added .
On Friday, temperatures are expected to slightly rise, but the weather will stay partly cloudy with a chance for scattered showers in the northern and central regions.
Once again, the country on Saturday will be affected by another wet and cold air mass accompanied by a depression, expected to bring heavy rainfall and form floods in valleys and low lands.
Rain are also expected with westerly winds blowing dust in the desert areas, the JMD further said.
