Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Security forces have unearthed more homemade explosives near the scene of Thursday's twin blasts that claimed the lives of two security officers and a citizen, State Minister for Media Affairs Jumana Ghunaimat affirmed Friday.
Bomb squad experts scouring the Wadi Azraq area in the Blaqa governorate, where the blasts took place yesterday, discovered buried explosive devices similar to those used by the terrorist cell that carried out an attack in Fuheis in August 2018, confirmed the minister, who is also the government spokesperson.
Experts have carried out a controlled explosion on the found package, she said, and added that combing operations are still underway in the area.
On Thursday, an explosion was reported at 11:55 am in the Wadi al Azraq area, and security forces were called to the scene to deal with the blast that killed one citizen.
Another blast took place as officers were examining the site, claiming the lives of First Lieutenant Ahmed Mahmoud Jaloudi of the Public Security Department and First Sergeant Musab Nazih Shibli of the General Intelligence Directorate.
Eight security service members were also wounded in the explosion.
