Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The government on Thursday urged the public to respect the State Security Court (SCC) Attorney General's arrest warranty against a number of former officials in connection with the "tobacco case".
In a press statement, the government said that attacking properties and blocking roads to protest against the order, run against our values and constitute a gross encroachment on the rule of law.
"Such acts also contradict with our national anti-corruption drive," it added further.
The government pledged to address such acts according to the law and said the case is currently before the Jordanian judiciary, which enjoys integrity and confidence.
Investigation into the "tobacco case" is still ongoing, it added, stressing that all should wait until the judiciary issues its final verdicts, which undoubtedly would be based on principles of justice, integrity and the rule of law, it concluded.
