Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Belgian ambassador to Jordan, Hendrik Van de Velde, stressed the importance of His Majesty King Abdullah II visit to his country, the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
As the EU capital that seats NATO headquarters, Brussels becomes a diplomatic, security and economic powerhouse that hosts the first diplomatic community in the world, even before Washington and New York, the envoy said.
"It's of particular importance and great significance that a respected and moderate leader as His Majesty pays this official visit to our region", he added.
"The visit shows that Jordan is a reliable and central power in the Middle East, that always seeks solutions to the region's crisis along with the rest of the International community.
The EU and Belgium will continue supporting the Kingdom at the socio-economic level." he said.
The official explained that the meeting between King Abdullah and Belgian Prime Minister for the second time in only three months (the last one was in September in New York), shows the close and brotherly ties between the two countries.
"I am sure that the King's visit to Brussels will bring back nice memories to all Belgians of the state visit took place in 2016 when His Majesty and Queen Rania visited our country," he added further.
