King patronizes ceremony to mark Prophet's Birthday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday patronized a ceremony held by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs at the Royal Culture Centre in Amman to mark Prophet Mohammad’s birthday.

The event, which was attended by HRH Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein and HRH Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein, began with Shaykh Ma'rouf Al-Sharif reciting verses from the Holy Quran.

In addresses during the ceremony, speakers paid tribute to various great qualities of the Prophet. They highlighted the life and deeds of Prophet Mohammad that called for love, justice, equality, protecting human rights and acceptance of others.

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Abdul Nasser Abul Bassal said the message of Islam, carried by the Prophet, lays the foundation for the religious harmony, tolerance and coexistence.

He also referred to King Abdullah's last week speech during the 2018 Templeton Prize Ceremony, in which His Majesty spoke about Islam and the message of humanism brought by Prophet Mohammad.

King Abdullah also honored a number of benefactors and donors who promote philanthropy in the fields of education endowment and others who provide care for the orphans, as well as a number of citizens who returned lost money to their owners.

The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister,Speaker of the Lower House, the Senate President, the President of the Judicial Council, the President of the Constitutional Court, Chief of the Royal Court, the Advisor to His Majesty and the Director of King's Office and a number of ministers, Senators and Deputies, chiefs of security agencies and senior officials and religious figures and scholars.
