18-08-2018 05:08 AM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - State Minister for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson, Jumana Guneimat Friday voiced Jordan's condemnation of Israel's closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif gates and forcing Muslim worshippers and Awqaf staff out of the holy shrine.

"Such condemned and rejected practices violate the sanctity of the holy site", the minister said, warning that such acts would touch off the passions of Muslims around the world.

These violations, she added, constitute a breach to Israel's obligations as the occupying power in East Jerusalem according to International Law.

Israel's moves also violate all international norms which affirm respect to all places of worship, Guneimat indicated.

The minister, moreover, held Israel responsible for such provocations and demanded an immediate halt to such practices.

She pointed out that the Kingdom was making contacts and working for the reopening of the Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif gates.
