Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Clashes and airstrikes resumed following calm for few hours on several axes in Daraa, south of Syria, after several Syrian opposition factions rejected what Russia calls a "reconciliation agreement."
Failed negotiations with Russia pushed opposition factions to declare general mobilization to confront the regime’s attempts to advance towards their strongholds especially after the regime forces sent reinforcements to the axes of Al-Tireh and Tal al-Samn and to the surroundings of Tafs, north of Daraa.
Regime forces and militias fighting along their side, aided by an air force cover, launched a ground operation to advance towards Tafs from two axes: an eastern one from the side of the Tapline Road and a northern one through the area of Tal al-Samn.
According to some observers, advancing towards Tafs indicates that the regime aims to separate the opposition-controlled areas in the western countryside into two parts.
Meanwhile, Assad troops are trying to advance to besiege the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad and to cut the road between the city’s eastern and western countryside.
