In its final communiqué, the summit rejected the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, stressing that the holy city is the eternal capital of Palestine. The communiqué also called for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards the Palestinians.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The OIC extraordinary summit concluded its session in the Turkish city of Istanbul, with an emphasis on the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian Holy sites in Jerusalem.

In its final communiqué, the summit rejected the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, stressing that the holy city is the eternal capital of Palestine.

The communiqué also called for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards the Palestinians.
