Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulki, on Sunday, chaired a meeting of the Economic Policy Council to discuss economic and tax-related policies, especially economic and financial objectives of a draft income tax law.
The draft income tax law is expected to be presented tomorrow to the cabinet and referred to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau (LOB) and then published on the LOB's website to be available to citizens and specialists for feedback.
The prime minister and the council's chairman sent a copy of the draft to the council's legislative committee for a discussion.
The premier said the government's economic policies aim in a balanced manner to meet financial challenges and stimulate economic growth.
He added: "Our legislation and policies must be developed in order to enable our economy to achieve the targeted growth rates."
"All of the government policies in this regard aim to reach the stage of self-reliance, which is an important national goal that we seek to achieve," Mulki concluded.
