Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Amman Chamber of Commerce and the Amman Chamber of Industry Tuesday emphasized that Iraq in the most important trade partner for both commercial and industrial sectors, pointing to plan to organize a permanent exhibition for Jordanian industries in Baghdad.
President of Amman Chamber of Commerce Senate Issa H. Murad and President of Amman Chamber of Commerce Senator Ziad al Homsi said in a joint press release that Jordanian embassy in Iraq can play a pivotal role in enhancing the commercial and investment relations between the two countries, and overcome obstacles standing in the way.
They pointed out that the decision to exempt Jordanian products from Iraqi customs fees has not been activated to this moment in despite the fact it was taken a month ago. They expressed their hopes to activate this decision as soon as possible so that Jordanian products can enter the Iraqi market without restrictions as it was the case before the closure of Turaibil border crossing.
They emphasized the readiness of the private sector to receive Iraqi economic envoys and businessmen, and to meet their needs, pointing out that during the meeting to the decision of the Chamber of Industry to organize an exhibition called (Made in Jordan) in Baghdad at the end of March aimed at familiarizing Iraqis with Jordanian industry.
Jordan is keen to enhance its relations with Iraq in all fields, especially with regard to commercial exchange, due to the importance of the Iraqi market for Jordanian industries, Jordanian ambassador to Iraq Al-Oqla said, calling for further effort in this regard from both the public and private sectors.v
