Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - State Minister for Media Affairs, Mohammad Momani, Wednesday, denounced as "heinous atrocities" an attack that targeted a bus killing a number of people, as the vehicle was passing through the tribal region of northwestern Pakistan.

A landmine explosion attack ripped through a bus Tuesday, killing at least eight people, including 3 girls and a child, near Pakistan’s Kurram agency bordering Afghanistan.

"The attack which rocked Pakistan yesterday and claimed the lives of a number of civilians and injured others proves once again that the war on terrorism is far from over", said Momani, who is also the government spokesman.

The scourge of terrorism and its breeding grounds still exist, he said, calling for further concerted international efforts to combat terror within a holistic strategy to rid the world of this plague.

Further, he reiterated Jordan's consistent stance rejecting all forms of terrorism and violence, irrespective of their sources or motives and said the Kingdom stands with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.

The minister expressed the Jordanian government's condolences to the people, government of Pakistan and the families of the victims, and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
