Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi on Sunday met with head of the Syrian High Negotiations Committee Naser al-Hariri for a discussion on the latest developments pertaining to the Syrian crisis, especially the results of the eighth round of the Geneva talks and the eighth round of the Astana talks.

Safadi stressed Jordan's position to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis through the Geneva process and on the basis of the UN Security Council resolution 2254 and in a manner that preserve Syria's unity, cohesion and sovereignty.

The minister also emphasized the importance to make rapid progress in efforts aimed at resolving the crisis in order to spare the Syrian people further fighting and suffering.

For his part, al-Hariri updated the minister on the Syrian opposition's approach and views to resolve the crisis.
