Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Iraqi ambassador to Jordan, Safia al-Suhail, categorically dismissed media statements attributed to her country's Foreign Minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, as "baseless," which alleged mistreatment of Iraqis in the Kingdom on a sectarian basis.
The envoy, during a meeting with Parliamentary Jordanian-Iraqi Brotherhood Committee at the embassy on Monday, lauded Jordan's crucial role towards its eastern neighbor and highlighted the King's unwavering efforts to support Iraq's people.
Head of the committee, Ahmad Lozi, on his part, said bilateral ties are a model of joint cooperation, and reciprocal keenness aimed to foster them in the various domains.
The committee's work, he pointed out, is driven by the King's vision that calls for staunch backing of Iraq under all circumstances to restore its key regional role.
"Jordan has always been keen to support Iraq's security and stability, and has a clear counterterror stance in fighting this phenomenon," he said.
Jordanians history, he told attendees, knows no discrimination or sectarianism, and reiterated the country will always extend all forms of support to the Iraqi people.
