Moderate conditions forecast today, cold front with snow showers on Wednesday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Temperatures are expected to slightly rise on Monday, becoming 5-6 degrees above their annual average and bringing moderate weather in the hilly areas and the desert regions, while it will be warm in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), daytime temperatures forecast today in the capital will reach 24 degrees Celsius, standing at 23 in the northern cities and 20 in the southern parts, dropping down to 9, 8 and 7respectively. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will register a high of 31 degrees and a low of 19 at night, the JMD added.

A slight in mercury levels is forecast on Tuesday, but they remain 3-4 degrees above their seasonal average with similar moderate conditions across much parts of the Kingdom. Winds will be southeasterly moderate to brisk with partly cloudy skies creating a chance for scattered showers in the central and northern areas.

A cold wet air mass and a depression centered over northwest Syria are forecast to start affecting the country on Wednesday, bringing tangible in temperatures and creating cold and cloudy conditions with rain across much parts of the Kingdom, the meteorologists said.

Late night on Wednesday, snow showers are expected in the hilly areas, the northern and southern regions.

Winds will be westerly to northwesterly brisk with gusts reaching 50-60 KMph bringing dust to the desert areas that receive no precipitation, the JMD added.
