Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Imad Fakhoury, on Sunday, held a meeting to discuss the 2018-2022 Plan to Stimulate Economy Growth, a ministry statement said.
The plan aims to resume the momentum the economic growth and benefitting from Jordan's promising development potentials.
It includes four main pillars, including monetary and financial policies, competitiveness and investment, ICT, public sector, development fields, the infrastructure such as water, energy, and transport, and the social development, which includes the education sector, human resources development, healthcare and labour.
During a meeting with ministries' secretary generals and relevant senior government officials, Fakhoury said that the government is finalizing the action programs, related to all fields targeted by the plan including financial, investment and monetary policies, the judicial side, ICT, developing the public sector, water, sewage system, energy, mineral resources, transport, external trade, macro, small and medium-sized enterprises, tourism, agriculture, education, human resources development and healthcare.
The minister expected the program to be accomplished towards the end of this month and to be referred to the cabinet, where the Government's Performance Unit will issue periodical reports on work progress.
The plan includes 95 measures related to the governmental reforms and 85 government projects at a total cost of JD6.9 billion.
The program also highlights 27 investment opportunities for the private sector at a total cost of JD9.5 billion in the sectors of energy, water, transport, ICT, tourism and others to achieve growth of 5 per cent over the next five years.
