Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki met Monday with board members of the Amman and Jordan Chambers of Commerce as well as representatives of the trade sector to discuss economic challenges facing the Kingdom.
During the meeting, attended by a number of ministers, al-Mulki said the financial and economic reform program is a national program that aims at achieving economic stability, reducing indebtedness and budget deficit.
He voiced confidence that the implementation of the national program for financial and economic reforms next year will contribute to stimulating the economy and finding solutions to financial challenges.
On income tax law amendments, al-Mulki said they aim to improve tax collection, and prevent tax evasion without affecting exempted segments.
During the visit, the prime minister opened the electronic government services unit at the Amman Chamber of Commerce, a center that grants licenses and services to private sector firms and institutions in Amman as well as the Amman Chamber of Commerce training academy.
He underlined the government's commitment to "supporting the citizen and not the commodity", saying a non-Jordanian third of the Kingdom's population benefits from blanket subsidies.
